I use the same method...

If you're looking for some feed back....
-Start the beat a 0:16
-0:31 to the start of your beat is a very good part
-the kick at 1:04 is very catchy
-the chords you used are catchy (good choice)
-at 2:40 add some background static or something, I like the effects you used though that section
-just fade the song out slowly at the end

Feel free to pick and choose from anything I just said, to be honest the song as it is now is very good :D

None of the instruments are actual midis except the bass. Also the song was made using a midi sequencer.

Never knew my stuff was even debatable for iPods.
